Inspired by artisanal crafts, Malie is a new womenswear brand offering timeless and refined silhouettes to the modern woman. Hailing from Denmark, Amalie grew up surrounded by the sleek and practical elements of Danish Design. Karandeep, meanwhile, grew up marveling at the sheer variety of India’s vibrant, culturally diverse and colorful aesthetic. As Amalie watched small fashion brands from Denmark master a simple, comfortable appeal, Karandeep found inspiration in the complexities of India’s intricate clothing design, techniques and textiles.

Prior to creating Malie , they both invested time supporting their families’ businesses. In London, Amalie joined her family’s Copenhagen-based fashion and accessories brand and ended up leading the PR & Marketing team. Respectively, Karandeep spent over a decade exploring garment manufacturing and textile trading for his family’s New Delhi based company. Their worlds collided in New York where they both attended Parsons, The New School of Design. Drawing from each other’s unique worldviews, they let their differences inspire the life they lead together.
