Have you heard of Fridgescaping?
If you haven’t heard of it yet, fridgescaping is like the long-lost cousin of tablescaping—an art movement now basking in newfound fame on TikTok and Instagram.
This new trend is all about turning your fridge into a canvas of self-expression, illustrating that decor isn’t just for the walls of your home but can extend into the cool interiors of your trusty food station. Instead of simply cramming food everywhere, people are now using uniform storage containers, colour-coordinated produce, and even flowers and candles to create a beautifully organised space. The term was first coined by Kathy Sue Perdue, a retired design consultant from Brentwood, California, on a blog back in 2011 as a playful spin on “tablescaping.” After fading into obscurity for a while, it only took a few weeks for social media to get everyone revamping their fridge into a perfectly curated, Instagram-worthy moodboard of fine display. And so, you wonder—why, exactly, is everyone fridgescaping now? Is it yet another social media trend that will tide over like all the others? Or maybe it’s simply a way to soothe the mind and save on therapy bills.
Le Mill dives into the major themes people are playing with to turn their refrigerators into picturesque displays. Never thought a day would come when we would be chronicling the inside of a fridge, but here we are!
Fridgerton
Fridgescaping Bridgerton
In the world of fridgescaping, our absolute favourite theme has to be ‘Fridgerton’. Inspired by the drama of Bridgerton, TikTok user Lynzi Judish took fridge styling to a whole new level, romanticising her setup with elements straight out of the show. Think decanting milk into fancy glass jars, slipping tiny framed photos into hidden corners, or even—yes, you read that right—putting a book in the fridge, or little ceramic swans filled with flowers and jewellery boxes with actual Chanel earrings in them. Because, let’s face it—if your fridge isn’t dressed to the nines like this, are you really embracing the ‘Fridgerton’ theme?

Halloween, Diwali or Christmas?
Halloween Fridgescape
For those feeling extra festive this season, why not take the holiday cheer from your backyard all the way to your fridge? Yes, we mean it literally. While some are busy reimagining their spaces the Bridgerton way, the rest of the internet is going all in with festive fridge makeovers. For Diwali, Indian lifestyle blogger Meenakshi shared a creative hack to refresh the inner corners of her refrigerator—using ‘genda phool’ (marigold flowers) arranged in mini earthen pots, along with other cutesy details.
Diwali may be over now, but if you’re preparing for Christmas, don’t forget to top off your egg tray with a Christmas stocking and turn that bunch of parsley into an adorable mistletoe.

And for those ready to jump on the trend but not quite keen on sticking to a strict theme, we’ve got some fun and easy tips to help you fridgescape in a sustainable way. While others might try to tap into your impulse-buying instincts, we’re all about repurposing what you already have to turn your fridge into a reflection of your personality. Start by arranging your fruits and veggies in colour-coordinated baskets, and add a touch of character with a small vase of fresh or dried flowers. And for that extra flair, lean in a few cookbooks that match your culinary style—then question yourself whether all this is practical or simply performative?
