#LeMillRecommends: 6 Shows To Watch For The Ultimate Fashion Fix
There are two things on which one can always rely on for escapism: fashion and binge-worthy television. And when the two come together, naturally, there's nothing better. If you’re looking for some wardrobe inspiration or a way to live vicariously, you’ve come to the right place.
Ahead, we’ve rounded up six shows that champion visual storytelling through their costumes (and they’re a treat for your eyes!).
Halston
Roy Halston Frowick, aka Halston, has been called both American fashion’s greatest designer and its greatest cautionary tale. This five-episode long miniseries charts the designer’s rise to fame in 1970s and ‘80s New York, where he dressed everyone from artist Andy Warhol to Jackie Kennedy. Every piece of clothing for every single character is a statement - clean, minimal and functional.

The Serpent
This true-crime series follows the journey of serial killer Charles Sobhraj, along with his partner-in-crime Marie-Andrée LeClerc who goes by ‘Monique’. The couple uses their charisma and charm to ensnare Western tourists in Southeast Asia. With a wardrobe inspired by the likes of Jane Birkin, Bianca Jagger and Joni Mitchel, Monique serves a masterclass in ‘70s glamour. Think Hérmes scarves, geometric-patterned shirts and loosely fitted boho maxis.

Killing Eve
A modern cult classic. Apart from being a super skilled assassin, Villanelle is perhaps the most fashionable murderess there is. Her bomber jackets, power suits, luxe pyjamas, and tulle dresses are a feast for the eyes. If you don’t watch it for Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s gripping plot and whip-smart dialogues, watch it for the hitwoman’s killer style (pun intended).

Gossip Girl (2021)
If the old Gossip Girl defined what preppy style meant, GG 2.0 is turning to all the hottest Instagram brands to serve the chicest street style possible. In classic Gossip Girl fashion, the characters are putting their own spins on the Constance Billard School for Girls’ uniform with the latest it-bags, Balenciaga’s Triple S sneakers, oversized sweatshirts and more. This show is definitely gonna make you nostalgic for school!

And Just Like That
SATC is back! The 10-part revival featuring Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis has been styled by the OG Patricia Field’s protégée, Molly Rogers, and co-costume designer on the Sex and the City movies, Danny Santiago. From the images we’ve seen so far: Carrie Bradshaw with the new Gucci-fied Balenciaga Hourglass bag, Miranda’s powerful jumpsuit, and Charlotte channeling Elizabeth Taylor; the show is sure to give us a big dose of city chic.
