Yellow is Spring Summer 2019’s Hottest Colour
The collective fashion conscious is at play, and it’s pushed yellow to the forefront as the hottest colour of summer.
Chasing the summer sun around Europe just got that much more romantic with Ulla Johnson’s lemon-hued summer dresses and tops. Isabel Marant’s fringed and citusy jackets promise make excellent holiday buddies. Johanna Ortiz’s loungewear-inspired trousers and kimonos make it easier to leave your bed on such sun-kissed holidays.
Balenciaga delivered a slinky dress apt for a sundowner. Brandon Maxwell and Carolina Herrera gave us more cocktail-worthy iterations – the latter being oh-so-romantic, with bare shoulders and puffed sleeves. Sacai went sporty, with fluoro skirts and jackets.
Etro decided to explore the pastel end of the yellow spectrum, with a muted suit. While Silvia Tcherassi and Givenchy gave us mustard hues, for day and night. Jacquemus and Maison Rabih Kayrouz pushed the envelope with barely-there, risqué dresses. Oscar de la Renta went for the daring Jenner-Kardashian favourite – thigh-high slit! And Gucci’s ruffled number even made it to ELLE UK’s latest cover featuring Taylor Swift.
